Who killed Miranda Wright? Through a lush, cross-genre score, six instrumentalists take you through the last day of Miranda’s life, singing, acting and playing all the parts. The mystery unfolds through the taping of a live court TV show. You, the Jury, will have a hand in convicting the killer… just be prepared for the consequences.
This is the first scene of my opera “Miranda” which will premiere at HERE Arts Center in January. We performed it as part of a workshop production during HERE’s Culturemart festival. The entire piece is a murder mystery play, where the audience watches the events leading up to a murder and must convit a killer at the end. In this scene the, the Crime Computer, DAVE, introduces testimony from Miranda’s maid. We then see a reenactment of Miranda discovering an incriminating memo in her fiancee’s office.
